What We Do
Windsor Volunteer Ambulance provides Basic, Advanced, and Paramedic level Emergency Medical Services to citizens and visitors to the Town of Windsor. Additionally, WVA provides medical stand for many of the special events in town including the annual Shad Derby, Windsor High School Football Games, SummerWind Concert Series, Columbus Day Soccer Tournament, and the Northwest Park Country Fair.
The Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Training Division provides a number of training opportunities for those who wish to join the emergency services as a profession. The WVA Training Division provides initial certifications in Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and American Heart Association CPR. The training division also provides recertification opportunities in the above areas.
WVA enjoys giving back to the community for which it serves. With events such as the Public Safety Toy Drive which collects toys for children in families that are less fortunate. Community CPR courses to educate those who wish to learn this life saving skill. We also work with Windsor High Schools Medical Emergencies course to provide practical assistance to the students in this course.
During the spring months WVA visits the elementary schools in town to expose the students to careers in EMS as well as encourage healthy habits.
